Day 3: in direction of Ambositra

We leave the Nature Reserv of Ankaratra with a light bitter taste in mouth, as a taste of smoke...
Naturally we found beautiful things, but two years préviously, during a visit of my companions on the same place, there were only few tracks of fire and burned forests...
Since, hundreds of hectares of forests have been destroyed, with all the orchids, reptiles, insects, birds....

Today we have to go to Ambositra where we will sleep next night.
Quickly we find again these landscapes of rice fields so typical of this region of Madagascar, shaped by a fundamentally agricultural ethnic group, Betsileo.

We cross numerous herds of zebus, which once conduits in the capital Antananarivo, often after hundreds of kilometers of walking, will contribute to feed a population which does not stop growing and for whom the rice, the coal and the meat became essential "products" that it is necessary to import massively from Malagasy countrysides.

The landscapes are magnificent, but we must not forget that we are here for orchids, that we discover that way and this around our road.
We must be very attentive, but fortunately for us cars cannot run very fast on these "roads"...

I see at first the orchid and by moving closer me I realize the spider...I found eggs of a praying mantis too.

We stop near a grassland, which is in fact an old rize fields, with sometimes a lot of water under the grass...we found there some orchids and some carnivorous plants.

As it gets dark early, we have to stop looking for orchids and go back to our cars...

And finally the day ends as expected to Antsirabe, in a charming small hotel, where we are happy to find a good shower and a real bed after 3 days of ground.
