Jumellea recurva Thou. (1915)

Formerly called Jumellea pandurata, this species changed name in 2012.

Geographical origin:

Central Madagascar.
Growing lithophytically on granite or basalt rocks at around 1200m in altitude.

Culture :

Temperate to warm, this Jumellea could be grown potted, with a mix of 2/3 medium barks and 1/3 of chopped sphagnum, but it would better be grown mounted, under a lower light level (3500 - 4500 lux) and medium humidity.

A short resting period during winter would be better for this species.

Most of J.pandurata which are sold in Europe or in the US are in fact J.densefoliata, less rare and which looks like J.pandurata.
