Our lab

Here is a small presentation of a basement transformed into lab for in vitro culture.
It is the lab of our association, called AROS, so we named it "lab'AROS"!!

Here are some pictures of this space only dedicaced to this actuvity, the reproduction of orchids...

Front, the autoclave, where we  first sterilized our empty flasks, and then the flasks with medium.
Today we only use it to sterilize the medium.

Behind, the "oven" for the sterilization of the small material ( scalpels, clamps, etc...)

Here we prepare the medium and the hypochlorit for the seeds' sterilization

Here is one of our laminar flow Hood, which we use only to store our sterilized flasks, sterilized water, filters, etc...

And here is the laminar flow Hood where we usually work.

On the last picture you can see the place where we store our flasks after the sowing or after transplantings.

As we have no more place in this basement, we shall move certainly move in a real lab, rented at the University of Starsburg....but as we don't exactly know when this will happen, we continue to work in our "old" lab....with success!!
